The thing is, we like a few curmudgeon writers. Martin Amis, as brilliant as he is, is not a likable fella, but this book is one we keep going back to read and admire. It’s a tale written backward with the cruelty of hindsight muted. Many writers emulate this work but few have accomplished its mastery.

Writers: Chase Palmer (screenplay by), Cary Fukunaga (screenplay by)…
Stars: Bill Skarsgård, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard

We didn’t see the original, but we heard Tim Curry is the only clown in town good enough. But that said this is still a fun film to watch with your honey. It will make you jump off your seat into those loving arms.

Music: DANCE
Artist: E.S.G.
Album: Come Away with E.S.G. (1983)

We had no idea this band existed when we were little critters growing up in the concrete jungle. ESG (Emerald Sapphire & Gold) formed in the South Bronx in 1978. The band is made up of three sisters and their friend and received little attention in their heydays. We didn’t know anything about them until the early 2000s when we encountered their tunes at a wackadoodle house party in Brooklyn. We’re so happy we found them. It’s never too late to fall in love!

Opening Paragraph: On January 24, 1895, in a letter that was kept unpublished for nearly 90 years, Sigmund Freud wrote nervously about a dangerous experiment he was planning to embark upon. “Now only one more week separates us from the operation,” he wrote to his friend Wilhelm Fliess, who would be performing the surgery. “My lack of medical knowledge once again weighs heavily on me.”
