Showtime
by Isaiah Janisch
Lights, dim.
Cheery tunes hum.
The ensemble of
brass and wood.
A flicker.
Darkness,
silence,
fill the room.
The curtains open.
A–
cough
…is such
a horrible way
to steal the show.
