Digging Through The Fat is a literary and arts journal for cultural omnivores. We showcase prose, poetry, and visual arts from emerging and established creatives throughout the year. We began as a call for literary action in 2013. As an organization, we aim to fire up the literary and visual arts. We like experiments and even failures. We relish in the avant-garde. We encourage creative risks and redefining our cultural narrative.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted as long as they are indicated as such and the submission is withdrawn from Submittable immediately upon acceptance elsewhere. Only previously unpublished prose works will be considered for publication. We do not solicit writers and poets. All works published at Digging Through The Fat are selected from our hefty slushpile. On occasion we will solicit work for the Storytellers segment for our podcast, Digging Through with Gessy Alvarez.
We welcome submissions from ALL. We especially want to encourage more submissions from women and non-binary writers, writers of color, and the LGBTQIA community. Help Digging Through The Fat’s community grow in diversity and beauty!
Email submissions are not acceptable. Please use our Submittable link below and read our guidelines carefully.
